Improve Information Sharing Across All Government Channels

Sharing of Information is Vital to Good Government.

Principal among the initiatives of the President's Management Agenda (PMA) is the call for improved sharing of information across all departments, branches and agencies of government. With the establishment of the Office of E-Government and the commitment to a Federal Enterprise Architecture, new data models have emerged in support of the PMA, meaning federal government software is more of a necessity. Making information accessible, re-useable, and consistent across any enterprise architecture is a primary benefit of PTC's Dynamic Publishing System (DPS).

Featuring PTC's Arbortext XML authoring, publishing and content management tools, the DPS streamlines the process for creating, publishing and updating information using government forms software. Content captured, created or stored as XML in the Arbortext Content Manager repository is broken down into re-usable components, to be used by multiple authors in multiple documents. Wherever practical, the Arbortext platform becomes the sole repository for all document and information components, thereby establishing a "single source of truth."

Information redundancy is eliminated through the use of a standards-based, media-neutral form of information. With our government software solutions, all versions and forms of information change with a single click. Arbortext XML publishing tools are currently at work in the Office of Management & Budget, Internal Revenue Service, Bureau of Census, Office of U.S. Patent & Copyright, Social Security Administration, Department of Energy, U.S. Congress, U.S. Senate, and the Government Printing Office.

State of Minnesota Streamlines Document Publishing with PTC’s Arbortext Software

“Arbortext software allows our users to more easily automate the publishing process, reuse text, build bill titles, add numbered references and collaborate with other agencies. As our new system matures, I believe the Arbortext software will help us work more efficiently and make our jobs easier.” – Michele Timmons, Revisor of Statutes, State of Minnesota
